Bob and Linda had been married for almost 47 years, and had grown accustomed to each day being like the last. As they settled into their habits, they forgot one another and lived under the same roof without speaking hardly at all. They began to sequester themselves away in different parts of the house. Linda took up quilling and Bob began birdwatching, and although they still technically shared the same bed, Bob had begun to fall asleep nightly in front of the TV, and Linda had begun going to bed earlier and earlier.
